Famous People with Learning Disabilities
There are many famous people with learning disabilities in the world
today.
Having a disability does not have to be the end of the world for
your child.
There are lots of people who we admire that became
successful with various learning disabilities.
One of the most known learning disabilities is Dyslexia. Dyslexia is a
condition which the individual has extreme difficulty reading, writing
and spelling.
In our schools most teachers are trained to identify a
child that might be dyslexic. After the identification is made the
parents of that child will have him evaluated and tested to confirm or
ignore any suspicions.
Among the famous people with a learning disability are actors,
entertainers, scientists and inventors.
Here are some of the famous people with Dyslexia:
Whoopi Goldberg - Actress
Tom Cruise – Actor
Alexander Graham Bell - Inventor
John Britten - Inventor
Albert Einstein - Scientist
If there is any doubt in your mind about your child being successful in
life think again.
As long as the disability is identified at an early
age and the right teaching methods are implemented he will do great.
Confidence building is one of the key areas emphasized in children with
Dyslexia.
The child thinks he is a failure and can never get anything
done in school. He is labeled as dumb among his peers; this is why
early detection is very important.
All children will not be academically inclined but that does not mean
they are not intelligent.
Take Alexander Graham Bell for instance, he invented telephones back in
1876. He was also dyslexic.
Most if not all of the famous people with Dyslexia will tell you that
they struggled in school at some time or the other.
With an accurate
diagnosis and the correct teaching strategy your child can live a
rewarding life and have a successful career.
In my opinion people with learning disabilities are not disable they
are just differently able.
